Take a deep breath and for a moment imagine the world you want to live in. Clean air, blue skies and pure water, green forests and gardens, plentiful food and shelter, respect and dignity for all. Breathe into the possibility of wildly creative responses to climate change, poverty, injustice, creating a peaceful world where all our basic needs are met and we are all working at fulfilling, meaningful activities where we are valued for the gifts we each are and bring. Breathe in a blessing for all beings to be well and breathe out love and healing.
In these tumultuous times I find it is calming, energizing and restorative to remember our collective vision of possibility for the world. It is so easy to get drowned in the pain of the world, wars, politics, pollution and violence. It is critical that we remember the beauty and love that is always there when we look for it. This seems most apparent in the midst of crisis like hurricane Helen(and so many other places in distress) and how many thousands of people, resources, organizations, funds have rallied to help.
I personally find it imperative to acknowledge the pain I see and feel AND take some kind of action, however small or big, to do something with my body, mind or spirit to contribute positively towards healing. I invite you to join with me. Hold onto the vision of what you want to create and take some kind of action, volunteer, send money, write, pray, to be another drop in the bucket of the greatest good for all.
Here we are on All Souls Eve at the new moon. A time of the veils between the worlds thinning and time to plant seeds of intentions. A time of magic and mystery, if you believe in those things. Thank all those gifted leaders- Buddha, Gandhi, MLK, Jesus, Mary, Frances Perkins, and all your loved ones who have passed and invite their wisdom to continue to inspire and move us at this time.
May we find our way to joyous engagement with what is and do the best we can to make the world a little better because we were here. 1,000 blessings to all! In service to the greatest good, Katey
